CompostSoup.com is dedicated to bringing you the latest Composting News, How to Compost Tips, and thorough Composter Product Reviews.
We believe that composting is extremely important in alleviating the problems caused by sending our food waste and yard waste to landfills. We each can help alleviate this mounting problem by simply composting at home. The benefits of composting at home are tremendous and will greatly benefit the environment, your garden, and your family!
The Compost Soup Team of writers consists of a group of avid gardeners and composting converts.
Compost Soup is also a “curated” blog, and we gather a great blend of news, tips, reviews, and how-to articles from around the web as well as give attribution to the originating source!
Our goal is to provide you “all things compost” in one central and well-laid-out location.

I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin (1975) with a B.A., with honors in political science. I am an independent writer and enjoy putting words to paper in the areas of life I “know” and “enjoy”!

I grew up “gardening”! My grandmother would wake up my brother and I at 6 a.m. daily in the spring and summer to do our job of “pulling weeds”! Gardening was just a way of life and we grew most of our own produce. What I didn’t know back then is the fact that my grandmother was a “composter”. She taught me to reuse food waste (like potato peels) by creating compost piles. We would then let nature takes its course and eventually would till the compost into our garden beds! Little did I know that there were thousands of tiny microorganisms doing their job, with the end result being rich nutrient soil!

I also grew up in the country, and like my husband, watched my grandparents “practice” composting but didn’t know the modern word “composting”! What sparked my interest to start a blog where the “best blend of composting news, composting tips, and composter reviews” were all available under one “roof”, was our recent move to the Seattle, WA area! Our community was actively involved in recycling in all forms and we became “composting converts”!
Enjoy Compost Soup and may it encourage you to become a Composting Convert!
